New Beginnings is wrapping up summer with a lot of gratitude for how God pursues us and draws us closer to Him. We had so many opportunities to grow in our faith, learn more about God, worship Him, serve others, share our faith and enjoy some fun and fellowship too.
Face Painting
We were able to reach out to the community with face painting at the Brooklyn Flag Festival and raise funds for camp at the same time. We had such a great time doing this!

Summer Camps
Our kids and youth attended summer camp with Open Bible at the beautiful Hidden Acres Christian Camp in Dayton, Iowa. Each person left closer to God than they came. One of the youth from our church accepted Christ at camp! We are so thrilled to be able to send our kids to an Open Bible camp with wonderful activities, and amazing worship times and speakers.

Baptism Sunday
Two of our kids decided to get baptized this year! We enjoyed a fun night the Saturday before with a potluck, games, and a variety of shenanigans.
Our Sunday service was held at Lake Iowa. We gathered on the beach to share testimonies, and following prayer, we witnessed baptisms.

Missions
This summer a college student from our church, Karissa, shared about a week she spent ministering to the people of Dillingham, Alaska. She went with a team from her campus ministry group. God used this group as they held Vacation Bible School and blessed the kids and their families through testimonies and prayer.
We are closing out the summer with a visit from Nicole, a full-time missionary to Lebanon. She will be sharing about her time ministering to refugees from Syria. Nicole will be treating us to tea with mint and a glimpse of Middle Eastern culture as we see what it’s like to step into a typical Syrian home. Please join us Wednesday night, August 28th!
Things We Aren’t Saying
This summer, our pastors ministered to all of us on Sundays and beyond, sometimes in very specific ways. Whether they met to pray with us, let us cry on their shoulder, or invited us over for games and pie galore, we’re really blessed by Josh and Tracey Gerard!
We all are eager to continue in the faith and reach out to those we meet with God’s love. We look forward to everything God has for us in the seasons to come.
