A Pasta Party for the Brooklyn Ministerial Fund

New Beginnings Church hosted an annual event this past Wednesday to raise money for the Brooklyn ministerial fund. The fund is supported by many of the churches in Brooklyn, Iowa to help those in need of financial and material assistance. The dinner was a Pasta Party for the ages.

New Beginnings Church enjoyed serving as a spot for the community to gather for a short time of worship and prayer, followed by a delicious meal. The lasagna was made by our own Kelly Taylor (yes, all of that lasagna was made by one person-with assistance from her family!), while sides were provided by church funds and desserts were homemade by others in the church family.

It was a pretty large crowd, with members of our community filling all the seats. Everyone seemed to enjoy the worship and especially the food!

Mindy Emerson, a visitor from out of town, had this to say about the Pasta Party: “It was great. The lasagna pieces were huge. The desserts were so yummy!”

Josh Gerard, pastor of New Beginnings said, “A big thank you to those in our church who helped set up, made food, and helped clean up, and thank you to those who gave. It is good to see the Brooklyn body of Christ come together and be His hands and feet.”

We held a combined youth group service afterward, featuring worship, teaching, and a short game. The youth group kids were gracious enough to stay and clean up. Thank you so much, Center and Roots!

It was a blessing to see people from area churches united in fellowship and in purpose. Everyone gave generously and together were able to raise just shy of $700 to support those who need assistance in the Brooklyn, Iowa area. We praise God for a great night together in support of a wonderful cause!
