Our Roots youth group went to the Forward Conference in Montezuma at Faith Christian Center, and God really moved in powerful ways. Almost 100 people attended this youth event, with a speaker from out of state, Sean Strong, challenging both teens and adults who were there.
Sean spoke on laying down past sins and hindrances to move forward into God’s will for us. The messages really seemed to hit home and connect with the group (the last session was a favorite). Our teens and those from other churches arrived hungry for God and expecting Him to show up. Worship and prayer times were powerful!
But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29
We have a fantastic group of teens! We took eight from our church, and they all had a great time not just during teaching and worship. There were also games, meals, and more.

Our pastor Josh shared…something that looked like this. Unfortunately, we couldn’t obtain the video of the lip-synching in action. But those of us who couldn’t witness it in person trust that it was epic.

Every teen who attended shared a testimony at church. Some were affirmed by Jesus’ love, some felt encouraged to pursue a calling in ministry, and others were blessed with emotional healing. We are so thankful for this generation of Christ followers and how God is using them to bless our church!
