“Paul pleads, he lowers himself, and he’s saying ‘Please walk through this together.’ Euodia and Syntyche are both members of the church of Philippi, sisters in Christ, but something came up that splintered these two women’s relationships, and everyone is aware and involved. This church is going through external persecution but is now also feeling the stress from within…The challenge here for Euodia and Syntyche is to have that mind of Christ; to walk in forgiveness, humility, and servanthood, not to ‘be right’ or start getting people on their side.”
