Baptism: Consecrated and Ready

“And this guy named John now shows up and cries out in a loud voice, ‘repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.’ He is preparing the way for the Lord. He is getting the people ready, and that always starts at a heart level. To turn from sin, to run toward God, and the symbolism John used here is taken right out of the OT with the washing of water, in this case, through baptism.”
