Bethel: Where God Meets the Messy

In this message from Genesis 28, we explore Jacob’s encounter with God at Bethel—a moment that reminds us God meets imperfect people right where they are. Jacob is on the run, Esau is reacting in rebellion, and Isaac has waited too long to speak truth. Yet even in the mess, God is present and at work. Through the vision of Jacob’s ladder, we see a powerful connection to Jesus as the bridge between heaven and earth (John 1:51), calling us to recognize the presence of God in our own lives.

This sermon also emphasizes the importance of raising children in the Word of God, encouraging parents not to wait but to teach biblical truth from the start (Ephesians 6:1). God doesn’t just want to dwell in places—He longs to live in our hearts (1 Corinthians 6:19). Are our eyes open to see what He’s doing in and around us? Wake up, sleeper. God is here.
