“This ‘stay’ is your rod and your staff, they comfort me. This staff is there constantly. Because the Lord is my stay, of course I call on his name. Of course I didn’t have to do anything to make this magical get away. I just called and he answered. How tender and sweet is this? David knew God delighted in him. God–thank God!–is not human.”
